the blogosphere!

hello!

it's a new year. it's time for a new blog.

i'm in gaylord, MI, and i'm having an amazing time. new years eve was good, and there were definitely moments during which i felt much happier than i can remember feeling in recent years. that's probably a good sign. this is a perfect starting point for the year, particularly in the wake of the last one.

not capitalizing is an interesting way to go about writing. it's not particularly my favorite way to write from a grammatical standpoint, but there are definitely advantages.

1. it appears more symmetrical
2. it makes me feel awkward writing the word "i," since i'm used to capitalizing it. as such, i'll probably use the word less, and these blogs might be more selfless!

blatant overanalysis. but that's ok.
